Tabaimo

In 2006, the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain was the first French institution to present the work of Tabaimo, one of the most noted Japanese artists of our time.
The catalog retraces Tabaimo’s work in pictures. A far cry from the smiling image of contemporary Japanese art conveyed in the west, it reveals the dark side of modern Japan in animation films and installations that lead the viewer into a world that is both seductive, strange, and infinitely unsettling.
